The Beauty Of Doors And Windows On the World

by
You may remember a post last year by Andre Vicente Goncalves, a Portuguese computer-scientist-turned-photographer who traveled the world taking pictures of windows that he then compiled into beautiful collages.

Not content to stop at windows, the globe-trotting photographer now brings us a whole new project that focuses on a different subject: doors.

Much like his previous project, his latest project, titled Doors of the World, follows a similar theme by making use of collages to present his beautifully colorful findings.

We often think of doors as something practical, an item necessary to our lives only because of what it does for us. But this project reminds us that doors aren’t just there to be opened and closed – they’re also there to be admired.

Food Typography: We Turned Foods Into The Words That Represent Them

by
Fancy a bit of horseradish in your Mac ‘n’ Cheese? Or what about coffee in your Spaghetti Bolognese? Sounds a bit twisted – but that’s the whole idea behind Sainsbury’s “Twist Your Favourites” campaign, which we were asked to create some artwork for.
With six key ingredients to play with, we got stuck in creating some bespoke typography which would feature in the campaign’s digital adverts. We knew we wanted to produce something mouth-watering (literally!), and for there to be a connection between the type and ingredient.
Each piece was handmade in our studio, and we sourced all of the props and backgrounds from local antique stores. One thing we’ve definitely learned is to not leave chorizo out overnight – mice love it.

Galaxy S7 Edge Vs. iPhone 6s Plus: Samsung's Flagship Falls Short In Speed Test

by
With the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge set to launch Friday, comparison tests are starting to trickle in. Recently, tech enthusiast Jerome Ortega took the Galaxy S7 Edge for a test run against competitor devices, including the 2015 Moto X Pure Edition, the Nexus 6P and the iPhone 6s Plus. Though the Galaxy S7 Edge includes some of the latest high-end specifications, including a Quad HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip and 4GB of RAM, the handset fell short during speed and performance tests.
All four handsets were factory reset and tested without SIM cards. The devices were put through their paces; Ortega timed how long it took to open and close various third party applications, including Instagram, Temple Run, YouTube and Chase mobile banking. read more

US Air Force Space Command has said that its second 'cyberspace weapon system' is now fully operational. It said that last month its Cyberspace Vulnerability Assessment/Hunter weapon system (CVA/H) reached 'full operational capability' status. CVA/H is a set of security software that is designed to find, fix, track, target, engage, and assess advanced persistent threats to air force missions.
